Dr. Owens is originally from Twin Falls, Idaho. He started his undergraduate studies at the College of Southern Idaho in Natural Science and nursing. He then continued undergraduate studies in Zoology at Idaho State University. He received his Medical Doctor (MD) degree in 2003 from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Owens completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Marshfield Clinic/Saint. Joseph’s Hospital, affiliated with the University of Wisconsin in 2007. He practiced medicine for one year in Marshfield, Wisconsin following residency before relocating to the Rupert/Burley area in 2008.

He practiced in Burley until 2014. As he continued to reside in the Burley over the following 3 years, he practiced medicine as a Hospitalist at multiple hospitals in the State of Washington as well as in Meridian, Idaho. When the opportunity came in June of 2017, Dr. Owens joined Minidoka Memorial Hospital (MMH).  His long-term goal is to remain at MMH, continuing to expand his practice.  Dr. Owens is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).






Treatment of Multiple Medical Illnesses

Dr. Owens enjoys complicated medical illnesses and the challenges that are associated with medical testing, diagnosis, and treatment that is needed for such complicated illnesses. He is focused on the health and wellness of each individual patient and his medical management is always in the best interest and benefit of the patient.

Dr. Owens knows his limits when it comes to the medical management of his patients and will refer to a specialist when appropriate. He has many mutual patients with multiple sub-specialty physicians. He truly supports the unique multi-specialty care that some patients require.
